Why the Marais Audomarois is unique

The Marais Audomarois, France's "last market gardening marsh", has been awarded the "Marais Audomarois" label. UNESCO Biosphere Reserve since 2013, for the balance between human activities and biodiversity. It covers more than 22,000 ha around Saint-Omer, with a historic network of canals. 

It is part of the Caps et Marais d'Opale Regional Nature ParkA vast area of nature and walking between Saint-Omer, Calais and Boulogne-sur-Mer.
